چکیده
The effect of pre-sowing priming with N-hexanoyl-L-homoserine lactone (C6-HSL) solution (300 mg/L) on acorn germination and morpho-phenological characteristics Quercus robur Q. rubra was studied under laboratory conditions. After priming, 93.4% acorns germinated that exceeded the control by 32.2%, while number sprouted increased within error limits 5% more than amounted to 90%. According morphological characteristics, 47-day-old plants were divided into following groups: acorns, sprouts seedlings juvenile leaves, whereas among rubra, true leaves selected. A group detected only in samples primed C6-HSL. Priming induced differential changes cotyledon biomass both species accelerated nutrient utilization seedlings. We observed a positive growth accumulation negative effect, except for third group, those rubra. dry weight seedling roots shoots increased, respectively, 103% 153%. C6-HSL an increase number, length, total area leaves. These pronounced Alterations root system architecture towards formation numerous additional lateral recorded species. Thus, activated stimulated decelerated Exogenous did not eliminate syndrome unfriendly oak species, but improved viability

Acyl homoserine-lactone quorum-sensing signal generation.
Acyl homoserine lactones (acyl-HSLs) are important intercellular signaling molecules used by many bacteria to monitor their population density in quorum-sensing control of gene expression. These signals are synthesized by members of the LuxI family of proteins. To understand the mechanism of acyl-HSL synthesis we have purified the Pseudomonas aeruginosa RhlI protein and analyzed the kinetics of...
متن کاملThe Pseudomonas aeruginosa quorum-sensing signal molecule N-(3-oxododecanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone has immunomodulatory activity.
Diverse gram-negative bacterial cells communicate with each other by using diffusible N-acyl homoserine lactone (AHL) signal molecules to coordinate gene expression with cell population density. Accumulation of AHLs above a threshold concentration renders the population "quorate," and the appropriate target gene is activated. In pathogenic bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, AHL-mediated ...
متن کاملStructural basis and specificity of acyl-homoserine lactone signal production in bacterial quorum sensing.
Synthesis and detection of acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs) enables many gram-negative bacteria to engage in quorum sensing, an intercellular signaling mechanism that activates differentiation to virulent and biofilm lifestyles. The AHL synthases catalyze acylation of S-adenosyl-L-methionine by acyl-acyl carrier protein and lactonization of the methionine moiety to give AHLs. The crystal structu...
متن کاملInvolvement of Acylated Homoserine Lactones (AHLs) of Aeromonas sobria in Spoilage of Refrigerated Turbot (Scophthalmus maximus L.)
One quorum sensing strain was isolated from spoiled turbot. The species was determined by 16S rRNA gene analysis and classical tests, named Aeromonas sobria AS7. Quorum-sensing (QS) signals (N-acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs)) were detected by report strains and their structures were further determined by GC-MS. The activity changes of AHLs on strain growth stage as well as the influence of diff...

Two microbial isolates from a Malaysian shoreline were found to be capable of degrading N-acylhomoserine lactones. Both Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight-Mass Spectrometry and 18S rDNA phylogenetic analyses confirmed that these isolates are Rhodotorula mucilaginosa. Quorum quenching activities were detected by a series of bioassays and rapid resolution liquid chromatogr...
